What is a role of Instrumentation and Control Engineer?

Instrumentation & Control Engineer is responsible for constructing, designing, developing, installing and managing field equipment’s or process equipment’s, which are used to monitor and control different process or/and control system available in assembly units and manufacturing area.

Design and development of the control systems and modified the existing control system as per user requirement.

Design and development of sensor (Pressure sensor, Temperature sensor, Level Sensor, Flow Sensor, Displacement Sensor, Position Sensor, Moisture sensor, Humidity sensor and others), transmitter, receiver, transducer, Converters (Current to Pneumatic, Pneumatic to Current, Voltage to Frequency, Frequency to Voltage, Voltage to Current, Current to Voltage and others) controller, Programmable Logic Controller, Distributed Control System, Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition System, control valves (Electronics, Hydraulic and Pneumatic), positioner, relays, actuators, motors (A.c., D.C., Stepper Motor), compressor, pumps, robotics, vibration analyser, Gas analyser, Gas Spectrometers, Internet on Things (IoT) based project design and others for industrial automation.

A take vital role in designing the plant automation with advance controllers included Embedded Controller, Programmable Logic Controller(PLC), Distributed Control System(DCS), and Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA).

A take prior role for troubleshooting of technical problems raises in the industry.

Instrumentation & Control Engineer ensure that industrial equipment’s, products and machinery work safely and efficiently with respect to energy utilisation, safety standard and others.

Understanding and ensuring compliance with the health and safety regulations and quality standards.

Providing advice and consultancy support.

Analysing data and presenting findings in written reports.

Writing computer software and test procedures.

Project engineering management within cost and time constrained environments.

Contacting clients, suppliers, contractors and relevant authorities.

Developing new business proposals.

Purchasing equipment.
