Recording and Reporting of Experimental Data (Measured Data)

The recording and reporting of the measured data play an important role during measurement of process variables. This process variables are temperature, pressure, flow, level, moisture, humidity, displacement, speed, position, conductivity, viscosity, pH, turbidity, density, opacity, gas concentration and other.

There are different way of recording and reporting the experimental data.

We can record and report data with the help of two modes:

a) Manual Mode and

b) Automatic Mode

Firstly, we will discuss manual mode of recording and reporting of the data.

Manual Mode:

The user or operator writes readings of measured data and makes record as well as a report with respect to different parameters.

The data are recorded in the reading book, word file, excel file, graph paper, chart paper and other.

This mode offer disadvantages like observation error with respect to a different operator, time consuming and others.

Secondly, we will discuss automatic mode of recording and reporting of the data.

Automatic Mode:

In this mode, the recording and reporting of measured data (experimental data) with respect to different parameters are performing automatic.

With the help of sensor, transducer, transmitter, signal converting circuit, controller, receiver, personal computer or laptop, we can sense and record data automatically inside the personal computer in different format.

The data’s are recorded in the personal computer in the form of text file, word file, excel file, pdf file, ppt file, image file and other. In this mode have the facility to store data with respect to different time interval. For examples user or operator want to record data with respect to 1ms (milisecond), 10ms, 100ms, 1sec, 2sec and others interval then it is possible.

In this mode, the report is automatically generated with respect to different parameter and sent to authorized persons.

This mode offer advantages like less observation error with respect to manual recording and reporting, less time consuming, higher accuracy, higher precision, higher repeatability and others.
