There are total six types of modes or classes of fire (Based on Asian/Australian fire standard).
1) Class A:
In this mode, fire is occur due to solid materials such as cloth, wood, plastic, paper, rubber, coal, soft furnishing and others.
2) Class B:
In this mode, fire is occur due to flammable liquids like petrol, diesel, thinners, paints, wax, oils, cooking fat, gasoline and others.
3) Class C:
In this mode, fire is occur due to flammable gases like propane, butane, natural gases and others. The fire generated due to flammable gases are very dangerous and explosive.
4) Class D:
In this mode, fire is occur due to combustible metals such as lithium, sodium, magnesium, titanium, zirconium, aluminium, potassium and others.
5) Class E:
In this mode, fire is occur due to electrical apparatus such as computer, laptop, mobile charger, short-circuiting or overloaded electrical cables, short-circuiting machinery and others.
6) Class F:
In this mode, fire is occur due to cooking oils, frying fat, deep-fat fryers and others.
